- Hyalomma marginatum on a Permethrin-impregnated Battle Dress Uniform in Afghanistan – Michael K. Faulde. The rapid, spider-like movements of hyalommine ticks enhance their effectiveness as vectors of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever. However, in this film clip, a “hot feet” effect is evident as the tick progresses up the treated BDU, causing it to eventually release its hold on the fabric and drop to the ground.
